The True Meaning of “X”mas

A modern misconception understands the “X” in “X-mas” as a supplanting of Christ by, literally, crossing him out of the season which – we may say – used to bear his name. I say “misconception” because I came to learn recently that the “X” in “X-mas” has very early Christian roots.

This little tidbit and the rest of the post were actually an eye-opener to me. Wwritten by Derek – nieces husband… The entire Christmas debate appears to be much bigger in the US than in Canada. To me it is not about what others call it but about what I do with it. What does Christ’s birth mean to me? What will I do with it?
