But you know what? Even those that appear unshakeable are still very much shakeable. The recipe for stability, strength of character under any situation, integrity, dependability … (you choose the word) is right below. Psalm 15

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others; who despises a vile person
but honors those who fear the Lord;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
and does not change their mind; who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things
will never be shaken. (Psalm 15:1-5 NIV)

We were going to a concert a local church was holding with Don Moen but both Daniel and I are under the weather so … We stayed home. A nice, comfy and quaint time just the three of us.

After midnight we went out and burnt 8 large sparklers. Lots of fun.

So much has changed … To think that a year ago we were celebrating with people we used to see several times a week and which we hardly see anymore. People we shared so much with but who are no longer part of our lives. It is just so strange… But that is where the Lord has taken us.

Miro hacia atrás y veo territorio ganado o territorio perdido.

Ganado.

O perdido.

No podemos perder terreno.

No sea yo.

No seas tu.

No sean nuestros hijos.

Too busy… being busy.

(We are now on Day 25… but the sentiment remains)
We are on the third day of a 40 day fast. So far I am not going all the way but I am trying to be sensitive to what the Lord may ask of me. I am giving up caffeine and all meats but want to do more. I desire a closeness that I currently don’t have…

The whole idea of ‘healing our land’ has been ringing in my heart for a few weeks now and I feel this fast to be the perfect time to seek God and ask Him to do just that. What needs healing?

My land.
I want this heart and this life (and my family and my church) to be productive and bear much fruit for the Lord. For this the land needs to be healthy…

Let’s see what it all means.

Over the next few days we will post some of the Christmas pictures from church.

We will be at the church in Mexican Town (Detroit) over the holidays. Every time I go there the Lord does something in my heart and confirms the fact that I would like to do more for Him. Then reality hits when we are back in Mississauga…

For a few weeks the whole education debate and what the best method for educating, teaching, instructing, nurturing our children has been silently floating in the back of my mind. We homeschool my son. A decision for which we have taken much flack and for which we are constantly criticized. Yet… we know and feel and are 100% certain that this is the right decision… for us.

I have not formulated an opinion on the broader educational debate yet. And of course the American context is completely different than the Canadian one. I believe this short video (click here) is part of my journey. Not sure where this will take me (us)… but it is certainly going somewhere.

My wife wrote this little blurb for her Facebook status. It didn’t quite fit so here is the full excerpt:

The most valuable things in life are not the ones you can see or buy in stores but those which are not seen. The love that we have for our families, our friendships and of course God and His love are the truly priceless treasures.

In a society where more is never enough, let’s try to remember that Christmas is about God’s gift of love for us. That’s the only thing that can bring contentment and true fulfillment.

May your Christmas holidays be amazing and may you enjoy each moment with all of your loved ones! God bless you!!

Merry Christmas!
