Everything Tastes Better With Butter

There… I have said it!

Now you know what I think about butter.  Imagine if I were to really open up and tell you what I think about white bread.

White bread and butter.

Mobile Banking in Canada

Two days ago I started a series on mobile banking in Canada.  Essentially I try and make a case to Canadian Banks on the benefits of offering mobile financial services.  It has gathered some momentum and traffic has increased… not the pressure is on to actually go through the entire series. So head on over to the Mobile Strategy Blog and check the article out.   Leave a comment and join the conversation.

(BTW – Pushing it hard on LinkedIn actually helped in driving the traffic)

To Be In Awe Like A Child

As the airplane took off I noticed all around me. Almost everyone was reading something. Almost no one was looking out the window. Except of course for the child behind me – who had stopped kicking the back of my seat long enough to lend her full attention to what was going on outside her window. At what point in our lives do we stop enjoying those small things? At what point do we stop being awed by the beauty in simplicity? When do we lose our ability to enjoy the mundane?

I was reading too, but I stopped and decided to enjoy what was going on outside my window.

Everything was becoming smaller. People began to look like ants. The airplanes on the tarmac, the cars on the busy highway and the trucks at the warehouses looked more and more like my old toycars. The trees and the grass all began to blend into a beautiful mosaic of greenery.

The clouds are looking more and more like white frosting. Yummy (and probably low fat too).
Oh wait, now they look like a field cotton balls. Perfect to jump into. And play.

And play with Daniel and Nena.
How I miss them even on a short day flight.

To think that one day we can all jump and play in those clouds.
With Jesus.

Strange, the child behind me stopped kicking my seat and slamming her tray onto my seat.
It is all quiet now.
All quiet inside.

Stakeholder Engagement Definitions

As I said in my previous post… this blog is about random stuff and raw research.  I am working on Stakeholder Engagement models…  so how about a definition?

Here is one definition of Stakeholder Engagement for you:

By stakeholder engagement, we mean an ongoing exchange of information and inclusion of all stakeholders – not just the wealthy, powerful and loud – throughout every phase of a project.  [Source]

Blogging Topic

This is a personal weblog and I will attempt to not get carried away and focus on any one topic other than what I am doing at the time.  Of course the experts tell you that to be successful you should find your niche topic and focus on it.  We will not do that here.  Posting will be infrequent at times (perhaps even for extended periods of time).  At times I will write about things that don’t make sense to anyone but me (and my family).  Other times I will include interesting tidbits from my other work – let’s call it research in the raw.

For example, right now I am working on things related to stakeholder engagement, mobile analytics and process integration.   They are not related topics and I can’t necessarily post them on the other sites so they may find a home here in their raw form.
